What is Shrub?

We can't even tell you how many times we have been asked this question. The word Shrub comes from the Arabic word sharab, which literally means to drink. In the dictionary, Shrub is defined as an acid fruit drink.

Our fruit shrub is a drink concentrate made with cider vinegar, sugar, and raspberries. It can be mixed with sparkling water (1-2 parts Shrub to 8 parts water) to make a festive non-alcoholic drink.

Other uses for shrub:

  • Add 1-2 tablespoons to make raspberry flavored whip cream.
  • Add to hot tea or use to make raspberry flavored ice tea.
  • Add a cup or so to make a raspberry flavored punch with raspberry sherbet.
  • Drizzle it over vanilla ice cream for a raspberry treat.
  • Add to ginger ale to make a bubbly raspberry flavored soda.
  • You may even come up with some variations of your own.
